The inception of the Leadership Training Centre is intricately tied to Reverend Peter Kashung and his wife Moala’s unwavering dedication and visionary leadership.
Having completed their basic theological education in India (ETC, Jorhat, Serampore College, and UBS, Pune), they tied the knot. The Manipur Baptist Convention extended an invitation to the newly married couple to establish a Theological College. Despite meager salaries of Rs 350 for Peter as Principal and Rs 375 for Moala as a Lecturer, along with an extra Rs 25 allowance for female teachers, they embraced this endeavor.
They initiated the college within the Kangpokpi mission compound, lacking both electricity and water supply. This location served as the inaugural site of pioneering missionary efforts led by William Pettigrew and his team from American Baptist Missions.
